Workshop
Description
This 6-week workshop is an extension of Intermediate Web Design. Each
student will be completing their web site based on a specific hobby or
interest. This hands-on approach will be supplemented with lectures, demonstrations
and individual instruction with an emphasis on animation and interactivity.
Applications used include Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, and FrontPage.
This is the third of a three-part series on web design.
Prerequisites
Introduction to Web Design, Intermediate Web Design.
Course Objectives
1. Explore visual communication through the use of interactivity and animation.
Color, composition, scale, typography and other design elements.
2. Consider dynamic approaches to interface and navigation design.
3. Learn advanced techniques in Dreamweaver and Fireworks.
4.Utilize slice objects in Fireworks.
5. Learn the basics of animation in Flash and Fireworks.
6. Understand how to post and update a site using Dreamweaver and/or FrontPage.
7. Learn how to register and promote a web site.

Week
1
Dynamic Interface and Navigation Design. Raising the level of interactivity.
Week 2
Creating interactive navigational elements using advanced techniques
in Fireworks.
Week 3
Animation using Fireworks.
Week 4
Introduction to Flash animation
Week 5
Flash animation. Instructor led work session.
Week 6
Review testing, launching & editing a web site using Dreamweaver and/or
FrontPage.
