Workshop
Description
Everyone has a story to tell. Real Art Ways wants to hear yours
and help you broadcast it to the world. Being a storyteller
gives you license to be curious, ask questions, explore new
worlds, and share the stories you’ve collected along the
way. Being a storyteller is not just a job or a hobby; it is
a way of experiencing the world around you. A good storyteller
is constantly observing and making connections.
Media is powerful! Learn the tools of media now. With them you
will have the ability to bring issues and experiences that are
important to you and your community to the attention of the
general public.
In this program you will learn how to tell stories with sound.
Since there are no pictures available like in television or
newspapers, the images are drawn using language and audio. Close
your eyes-what sounds tell you where you are? A familiar voice?
The hum of the refrigerator? The bus driving past? Now open
your eyes and tell us what you see. Describe thee scene for
us, play-by-play, show us the environment, inch-by-inch, so
we can visualize it with our imaginations… You are on
your way to becoming an audio storyteller.
